Software & Tools
ALMA Keyword Filler (© It-ARC)
The ALMA Keywords Filler (AKF) CASA task is built to generate and eventually ingest in the headers the new FITS keywords that we suggest could be useful for a generic ALMA archive miner.
→ More detailed information on AKF can be found on the following page: ALMA FITS Keywords
ALMA Sensitivity Calculator
Please, note that integration times provided by the ASC refer only to the on-source time (no overheads are taken into account).
→ The ASC can be found on the following page: ALMA Sensitivity Calculator
ALMA Solar Ephemeris Generator
A tool that automatically generates Solar Ephemeris to be used for the preparation of proposals in the ALMA Observing Tool.
→ Please, follow the instructions available on this page: ALMA Solar Ephemeris Generator
CASA Simulator
The CASA Simulator allows a user to simulate interferometric observations, including the ALMA observatory. The simulations consider the configuration of the ALMA array, the receiver specifics and atmospheric conditions.
→ Please, follow the instructions available on this page: CASA simulator
Observing Tool
The ALMA Observing Tool (OT) is a Java desktop application used to prepare and submit ALMA Phase 1 proposals and, for those which are accepted, Phase 2 materials (Scheduling Blocks). It is also used for preparing and submitting Director’s Discretionary Time (DDT) proposals and Supplemental Call (ACA stand-alone) proposals. Note that in order to submit proposals you will have to register with the ALMA Science Portal beforehand.
→ More detailed information on ALMA-OT can be found on the offical page: ALMA Observing Tool
SnooPI: The Snooping Project Interface
The Snooping Project Interface (SnooPI) is a software tool that allows PIs, Co-Is, and Delegees to track their ALMA science projects’ observational and processing status.
→ SnooPI is available through this link and will open in a separate window or tab. A link to the User Manual is available from within the application and here.
→ More details about SnooPI are available here.
Catalogues & Databases
Catalogues of ALMA calibrator continuum observations
→ In Bonato M., et al., 2018, we presented a catalogue of ALMA flux density measurements of 754 calibrators observed between 2012 August and 2017 September, for a total of 16263 observations in different bands and epochs.
We found redshift measurements for 589 of them. About 97 per cent of the sources were classified as blazars.
→ In Bonato M., et al., 2019, we presented a second catalogue of ALMA flux density measurements of 3364 calibrators observed between May 2011 and July 2018, for a total of 47115 observations in different bands and epochs.
We found redshift measurements for 2245 of them. About 97 per cent of the sources were classified as blazars.
Splatalogue: database for astronomical spettroscopy
Splatalogue is a database for astronomical spectroscopy that offers new options to navigate the nearly 6 million spectral lines available via Splatalogue, from the radio to the submillimeter wavelength.
→ The database is publicly available on the following page: Splatalogue.
